Mob Psycho 100's first season expertly establishes Mob's social standing at school, with the protagonist even joining a sports club. Elegant Yokai Apartment Life dedicates an even amount of time to Inaba's youkai investigations and school antics, although the latter eventually takes precedence.
Slice of Life tends to be associated with the ordinary, while the same cannot be said about ghosts or psychic abilities. Along with being constantly hilarious, they possess unique abilities to allow for some creative battles. Mob Psycho 100 II greatly expands the roster by introducing or bringing back several espers to either help or hinder Mob. In the case of Elegant Yokai Apartment Life, the Youkai Apartment's residents are entertaining and, ironically, bring the anime to life. While Yuushi Inaba and Mob work fine as magnets to attract more colorful personalities, both anime's supporting casts tend to steal the show.
